Cage Cashier
Position Summary
Performs internal operations in the casino cage by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safeguards Casino bankroll between $50,000 and $95,000.
- Verifies and redeems an average total of $40,000 in VLT ticket per shift, including working off of 3 POS stations.
- Redeems coin for the customers following specific cash and coin handling procedures.
- Exchanges foreign currency by accurately computing exchange rate.
- Exchanges cash and chips for customers following specific cash and chip handling procedures.
- Completes MLT log for federal cash reporting requirements.
- Performs computer data entry for an average of about 1200 VLT tickets.
- Responsible for providing a high level of customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
- Ensures compliance with Tribal, State, Federal, and NIGC regulations.
- Ensures control/protection of company assets.
- Must learn, comprehend and comply with all company policies and procedures, MICS, Gaming Regulations and Title 31 requirements.
Additional Functions
- Use Windows XP, Excel, Word and other computer software.

- Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule and subject to change.

Minimum Required Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Requires ability to operate a 10 key with speed and accuracy.
- Requires a minimum of six months heavy cash handling cashier experience.
- Must have excellent internal and external customer service skills.
- Requires basic computer skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios to practical solutions.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads and employees.
- Knowledge of a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation.
- Skills in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skills in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and special casino events as required.
- Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screen.
Required Licensures, Certificates, Permits and Other Regulations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class III/A gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and the State of Washington.
